2,000 flee Borno to Niger Republic

 More than 2,000 Nigerians living in border villages in Borno State have reportedly fled as a result of the ongoing military operations targeted at routing insurgents from the area under the emergency rule.  The fleeing villagers were said to have headed to the neighbouring Niger Republic.    “Most of the residents of border villages of Borno have fled to Niger. About 2,000 people from Abadan, Malam Fatori and other villages are now refugees in Difa, Niger Republic,” a top security officer told one of our correspondents on Sunday.
The source said that the Joint Military Task Force was on the trail of members of the Boko Haram sect, who were dislodged from the Sambisa Game Reserve and other camps on Thursday in Borno State.
It was learnt that residents of Maiduguri and other communities far from the border, who did not want to be caught in the cross-fire had also fled to some neighbouring states, including Kano and Bauchi

Rescuers have uncovered the bodies of seven children who drowned in a pool of water under the flattened Plaza Towers Elementary School and up to 24 more students are feared dead after a two mile-wide tornado touched down in a highly-populated suburb of Oklahoma City on Monday.
Search teams on site had reported hearing cries for help from beneath the rubble at the elementary school that was obliterated in the worst storm the area of Moore has ever seen but the screams reportedly stopped at around 6:30 p.m. Shortly after, it was reported that the search and rescue mission had become a recovery mission with scores of little ones feared buried under the rubble. Some of these, however, had reportedly been found in churches and triage centers since, though it's unclear how many.
The monstrous tornado roared through the Oklahoma City suburbs obliterating entire neighborhoods with winds up to 200 mph pulverizing a 30-square-mile stretch. Block after block lay in ruins. Homes were crushed into piles of broken wood. Cars and trucks were left crumpled on the roadside.
Frantic parents rushed to the school, which was directly hit when the massive storm that has been given a preliminary rating of EF-4 on the enhanced Fujita scale barreled through the area of 170,000 residents shortly after 3pm Monday. The families were later taken to a nearby church to await news of their children.
KWTV reports that at least 51 people in the area of Moore, Oklahoma, have now been confirmed dead by the Medical Examiner's Office, with more than 20 of those children. Among the dead is a three-month-old baby, a four-year-old child and three adults who were killed at a 7-Eleven, as well as the seven school kids. According to reliable sources, Zack Orji has been ordained a full-time evangelist by Bishop Emma Isong of Christian Central Chapel International (CCCI).
We learnt the talented actor had engaged in various gospel activities in Abuja, Lafia (Nasarawa) and Makurdi.
Pastor Zack Orji has dedicated his time to preaching the gospel of good tidings across the nations of the world.
He was born Zachee Ama Orji in Libreville, Gabon to a Nigerian family in the 1960s. He graduated from the University of Nigeria in Nsukka.
Zack Orji is married to Ngozi Orji and the couple has 3 children together.

UNBELIEVABLE: Meet Woman Who Has Four Kidneys

 







A woman who underwent surgery on one of her kidneys was stunned to be told by doctors she had actually had four of them.
Jessica Curphey, 20, was rushed to hospital after she developed excruciating pain on her right side.Just weeks earlier, her GP had diagnosed a urine infection, prescribing her antibiotics.
But scans at Surrey's St Helier Hospital revealed what doctors first thought was a 17cm cyst on her right kidney.

Then 11 days later, further tests showed Jessica actually had two kidneys on her right side, the second of which was the 'cyst' - and was so damaged it would have to be removed.

BIZARRE :A Pig’s Head Found In Stoke City Player’s Locker

 














This might be bizarre but it really happened.A pig’s head was found in the locker of Kenwyne Jones who strikes for Stoke City. The striker was said to be livid when he found it in his locker room.‘A full internal investigation will be carried out. Those responsible for any unacceptable behaviour will be dealt with by the club’s disciplinary procedures’ said the club in a statement.
Kenwyne Jones’ girlfriend also didn’t find the incident funny. ‘Big men acting like kids. A pig’s head is not a prank, it’s just disgusting. I don’t get, how was that supposed to be funny. Really? Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Mine is I don’t agree wrapping a pig’s head in his clothes’ she vented on Twitter.
Pranks like this are common in Stoke City. Michael Owen who will be retiring at the end of this season had his car covered by eggs and flour as ‘parting present’ by the players.

Nelson Mandela Being Sued By His Daughters

Nelson Mandela's daughters are suing him for the rights to his artworks and control of his millions.According to the newspaper, Zenani and Makaziwe Mandela intend fighting an April 2004 Johannesburg High Court order which gave Mandela the right to instruct Ismail Ayob, his then lawyer, to stop managing his financial, personal and legal affairs.The court order barred Ayob from selling any of Mandela's artworks.
The Star reported that Mandela's current lawyer, Bally Chuene, filed an affidavit last week in response to a lawsuit brought by the sisters, who are represented by Ayob.
Last month the sisters filed papers asking for Chuene, George Bizos SC and Human Settlements Minister Tokyo Sexwale to remove themselves as directors and trustees of the Mandela Trust and as directors of Harmonieux and Magnifique (Pty) Ltd with immediate effect.
In his replying affidavit, Chuene reportedly said he, Bizos and Sexwale had, in 2011, refused to release the trust's money to the daughters without a legal justification.
The Star reported that Chuene was adamant Ayob was behind the women's court action.

 A California teen has attracted the attention of tech giants Google for her potentially revolutionary invention which charges a phone in 20 seconds flat.The super-fast charging device has been dubbed a supercapacitor by 18-year-old Esha Khare, of Saratoga - as she took home $50,000 from the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, which took place in Phoenix this week.The device will make waiting hours for a phone to charge a thing of the past and the gizmo packs more energy into a smaller space than traditional phone batteries and holds the charge for longer.Eesha Khare, 18, of Saratoga, Calif., received the Intel Foundation Young Scientist Award of $50,000 for the invention of a tiny energy-storage device.

So far, Khare has only used her supercapacitor to power a light-emitting diode or LED - but she sees a bright future that one day will see her invention powering cellphones, cars and any gadget that requires a rechargeable battery.
Heading to Harvard, Khare told CBS San Francisco that this is only the start and that she will 'be setting the world on fire' from here.

 'My cellphone battery always dies,' she told NBC News when asked what inspired her to work on the energy-storage technology.

Specializing in nanochemistry allowed Khare to reduve the size of her invention. 'Really working at the nanoscale to make significant advances in many different fields.'

Rihanna 'Suing Topshop for $5m' Over Unauthorized Image Usage

 





 Rihanna is suing UK retail giant Topshop for $5 million over an alleged unauthorised use of her image on their products. 
The Bajan beauty is reportedly furious after that the High Street Fashion chain have been selling women's T-shirts printed with an image of her in an oufit from her iconic We Found Love video. 
She is apparently taking legal action after eight-months of negotiations with the firm - owned by billionaire Sir Philip Green - over the tops bearing her image that are being sold without her consent. 
A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Rihanna's management asked Topshop a number of times to stop selling her image and were told, 'We do what we want'. 
 























"They buy the pictures from a photographer, but they do not pay the artist licensing fees. Unfortunately, UK law does not protect the artist. 
"What is most offensive for Rihanna is that they basically told her, 'Go to hell. We don't care; we are going to continue selling you'. 
"They offered her $5,000 and said they don't care." Rihanna has reportedly hired international lawyers Reed Smith to file a lawsuit against Topshop in London.

Lagos State Government Employs 70 Female Truck Drivers

 






The Lagos State Government on Friday said it had just employed 70 women as truck drivers, as part of efforts to empower women in the state.
The Deputy Gov., Mrs Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, announced this at a news conference in Ikeja organised to mark Gov. Babatunde Fashola`s sixth year in office.
She said that the women had been trained on driving large vehicles before they were deployed to the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) as waste truck drivers.
“We are also considering training and empowering women as Taxi drivers. We are currently examining some security risks that these women might face driving taxis.
